Key Words
|
Key Words, or sight words, are commonly used words that your child will learn to recognize and read by sight. Each child will be given a list #1 to study as part of our Rocket Readers testing. Once your child has mastered the first list of key words ,they will get the next list. Tests are every Thursday so your child will have a week to practice before the new list.
In class, we will introduce a few key words each week.
Study Tip: Read-Spell-Read students can practice reading the word, spelling the word, then reading it again. This way, they will be able to recognize the word while reading as well as knowing how to spell it when writing. Give it a try!
