Please download the Class Tag /School Status app on your phone. All communication regarding important class info will be posted daily on this app. You can also message me on Class Tag/School Status. You do not need a code so just wait until you get an invite from me after you have the app. You can always call the classroom number 619-956-5125, however, I typically don't answer it while I'm teaching. If it's an emergency, please call the office at 956-5101 and they will relay a message to me.
Recommended Every Day Supply List:
Water bottle. The bottle does not have to be huge, they can refill. (Labeled with their name, please!)
Backpack (Labeled with their name, please!) No rolling backpacks please:)
Healthy snack for recess that your child can open. If sent in non-disposable container(s), label with their name, please! Please pack snack separately from lunch.
Other Supplies:
If you would like to buy your student supplies, please see the (Optional) Recommended Desk Supply List below, which is what your child will have room for in their desk. I will provide each child with a zippered pouch to store these supplies. Please do not send pencil boxes or pouches. You can bring desk supplies in a Ziploc or grocery bag. I have printed labels with your child's name on it for you to stick on their supplies the first day. The number one item on the list that is REALLY helpful to have is the headphones.
Recommended Desk Supply List
Headphones (over ear, not earbuds --- the ones provided by the school break easily and don't last!)
Students received new iPads last year! If you are purchasing new headphones, consider purchasing a set with the USB-C plug. The new iPads will be coming with adapters, so no worries if you already have the "old" style. FYI, it is my understanding that the adapters are to remain at school.

First Day Of School (in class)
Here are the instructions I will give out Day #1:
Your child will put their snack in the striped bucket outside the room. Please make sure the snack is in a separate bag with their name on it. Then, have your child put their lunch in the blue bucket and make sure their name is on it. If they are getting a cafeteria lunch, those are free but please make sure your child knows that they are getting a cafeteria lunch and make sure they practice their number at home. Your child will then hang their backpack on the rolling backpack rack. Come on in and help your child find their seat! Please help label their markers, colored pencils, paint, etc with the labels I have printed in the buckets . On your way in the door, please let me (and your child) know where you will be meeting them after school. Gates will be closed when you arrive after school for pick up. Children will be walked to their pick up locations. All teachers on duty have a radio and can help you locate your child if necessary. Please be patient with staff and other parents while we learn the after school routine!
This is very important for getting them home.
Choices are:
FRONT OF SCHOOL BY OFFICE (OUT OF CAR)
CAR PICK UP LINE FRONT OF SCHOOL (WAIT IN YOUR CAR) Top Lot
TOP OF STAIRS BY LOWER LOT (PARK AND WAIT AT THE BOTTOM OF THE STAIRS)
Or will your child be:
RIDING THE BUS (Students wait for the bus at the top of the lower lot stairs.)
GOING TO CHILDREN’S CHOICE (Students wait for Children's Choice van at the top of lower lot stairs.)
GOING TO READY, SET, GROW (Students meet RSG leader at Kindergarten gate.)
GOING TO PROJECT SAFE (Re-named ELP: located on the playground across from the play structure near Room 4.)
WAITING AT THE LUNCH TABLES FOR AN OLDER SIBLING AT SECOND DISMISSAL
If you haven't already, please make sure to label their lunch box, water bottle, jacket, so that they can be easily reunited with any misplaced items.
Water bottles may be placed on the floor next to the desk.
Help your child get started by getting out their supply bag, writing their name on their coloring sheet and dot to dot and then they may color or do the dot to dot.
