Hello! My Name is Karly Brumley.

Hello! My name is Karly Brumley. I will be teaching TK at Pepper Drive this school year and I am so excited. I previously taught both EAK and Kindergarten at Carlton Oaks School in Santee. I have a bachelor's degree in early childhood development with a multiple subject teaching credential. I recently received my master's of education in teaching and learning. I have been working with children for the past 6 years. Before working for Santee School District, I taught Pre K at a private school for 3 years. 

I believe my role as an educator is one of a facilitator of learning. In my classroom, the students learn through play and problem solving. Play-based learning (or child-centered learning) allows students to choose what interests them. My room is full of a variety of learning centers students can discover both with support and independently. I teach to the whole child. This includes academic, physical, and social-emotional needs. My goal as a TK teacher is to provide each student with a strong foundation to create life-long learners with a love of knowledge.
