Welcome to Mrs. Bakke's 1st Grade!
2024-2025
Welcome to Room 4! Our classroom is located just up the stairs from the play structure on the lower playground. I am excited to meet you and your child on August 21st. Here's a little bit of my background:
I grew up in East County and live in El Cajon. I have 3 adult children. Dana, 26, recently completed her Master's Degree from the University of New Hampshire and is now living in Barcelona, Spain. Garrett is 23 and attending San Diego State University. Claire is 20 and a senior at Lewis and Clark College. My husband, Victor is a mechanical engineer. We have four fur babies. Toast, a black and white and spoiled cat, Splat and Stomp, our littler calico cats (also spoiled), and Gator, my haflinger horse.
I love teaching first grade! This will be my 8th year teaching first grade at Pepper Drive. This year promises to be a year of academic growth and social maturity. I will work to meet your child's individual needs and celebrate successes.
Tell me a little about your student by filling out this form!

Recommended Every Day Supply List:
Lightweight jacket or sweatshirt. Even though it is hot outside, students often feel chilly in the AC! (Labeled with their name, please!)
Water bottle. The bottle does not have to be huge, they can refill. (Labeled with their name, please!)
Backpack (Labeled with their name, please!)
Healthy snack for recess that your child can open. If sent in non-disposable container(s), label with their name, please!
Other Supplies:
If you would like to buy your student supplies, please see the (Optional) Recommended Desk Supply List below, which is what your child will have room for in their desk. I will provide each child with a zippered pouch to store these supplies. Please do not send pencil boxes or pouches. You can bring desk supplies in a Ziploc or grocery bag. Please note that if you choose to send additional materials beyond the recommended list, they will be added to a community supply box so that your student and others can use them throughout the year. The number one item on the list that is REALLY helpful to have is the headphones.
Recommended Desk Supply List:
(Optional)
Headphones (over ear, not earbuds --- the ones provided by the school break easily and don't last!)
Students received new iPads last year! If you are purchasing new headphones, consider purchasing a set with the USB-C plug. The new iPads will be coming with adapters, so no worries if you already have the "old" style. FYI, it is my understanding that the adapters are to remain at school.
